Parker casey- amiyose v
this was made by kay sekimachi. he was born in 1926 and he was a american who lives in berkeley, california. this object is called amiyose v and it was made in 1968. ita a woven nylon monofilament or plastic tubing. now sekimachi uses the loom to construct sculptural pieces. but in this one she uses monofilament unconventionally by connecting pieces of the woven separately on a loom into a cylinder structure with a inner core. i picked this object because when i first saw it i actually thought it was floating in the middle of the room so i went over to look closely and i saw a thin line of string holding it up. now this item is cool to me because i feel it is really cool how she uses a loom to make this. now a days not a lot of people use looms to make stuff.i really don't have any close interesting stuff that is kind of related to this piece of art it just looked so cool to me i had to do it. i have a couple of question i could ask her like”why did you decide to make this and what came t your mind to make such a cool piece of art?"
