This picture was made by Keith McLeod called "Head and Chest of a Lion." It is called this because it's literally the the head and chest of a lion. Lions were found all over South and Southeast Asia. They're found at Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain sacred sites located in these areas. You can tell the sculpture is very old by its cracks and fade of color. The head and chest of a lion is very dirty and muddy which makes its color fade. As well as old and dirty, it's also a very unique and interesting sculpture. It's also very different because there aren't many other sculptures like it which makes it interesting as well as different. When I first saw the sculpture, it was creepy and kind of gross because it was all chipped and i had no idea what it was. After I read the plaque it became more visible that it was supposed to be the figure of the head of a lion. The part that I didn't understand at first was why the lion had no mane and also why it has what looks like a mustache. The sculpture now that I know what it's resembles is a very cool thing to go back and look at.
